Online Learning

2020 was a pivotal year for all of us. Like so many others, I transitioned to virtual speaking and consulting and while I wasn’t excited about the change, it offered a badass opportunity to connect with my audiences in an interactive way.

As such, we were able to gather data from 55,000 employees across the United States. That knowledge has been applied to this online course and provided to you.

Yes. You read that correctly! I built a course that sparks personal development and organizational change based upon current trends of DE&I concerns from people just like you.

Risha captivated the audience and challenged us as HR professionals to look at what diversity and inclusion really means.”

Karlina Christensen and Shauneen Scott

Committee Chairs, Northwest Human Resource Management Association (NHRMA)

Nestle Purina’s Women Leaders Forum invited Risha Grant to lead a (virtual) presentation to our members in August 2020. Risha’s presentation, Authenticity is Everything, was a candid discussion on how to identify and get rid of our biases so that we can show up as our authentic selves. The feedback from this discussion was overwhelming! Our members appreciated the safe space for discussion, asked thought-provoking questions that Risha answered truthfully, and walked away with tools on how to examine and overcome their own biases. Risha has such a dynamic personality that was felt even through the virtual environment (although I bet seeing her in person is even better!) and a disarming manner that made it easy for us to engage with her. If you’re looking for an energetic, no BS speaker to engage your organization on some tough topics, hire Risha.”

We loved having Risha as our Keynote Speaker for our 2020 Professionals of Color Conference. This year came with a lot of challenges, but Risha and her team made going virtual smooth. Risha’s content challenged the cultural norms and we appreciated her openly speaking her truth and experiences.”

We just completed her session and it was the most well received of our 3 keynotes, in my opinion. She knocked it out the park. Or, to use a basketball reference, she was draining 3’s all speech long.

She did a fabulous job. I truly appreciated her story-telling andtransparency. It allowed our team members to connect with her.”

D&I is hard work because we humans are complicated. The bottom line is, when you need an extraordinary facilitator — who is clear-eyed, compassionate, and unafraid to work on implicit bias — call Risha. She steered theconversation to illustrate the unacknowledged, unaware white privilege that was underneath many of the exchanges among the participants, yet always created an environment of safety. Risha is uniquely equipped to lead your people forward into better territory where everybody wins.”

Delaying justice IS injustice!

Many of y'all are off work today for Juneteenth. Annddd, some of y'all might not even know what it's really about. So while you're relaxing, take a minute to understand this holiday.

On June 19, 1865, freedom finally arrived for more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day, known as Juneteenth, symbolizes the agonizing delay between the promise of freedom and its actual delivery.

The lesson from Juneteenth is clear: delayed justice is injustice. As we commemorate today, we must confront the reality that too many people still don’t experience the racial equity they deserve.

We can't afford to wait any longer.

Fam, proclamations and promises ain’t enough. The two-year gap between the Emancipation Proclamation and the actual freedom for enslaved people in Texas stands as a stark reminder that it took two years after the arrival of Union troops to enforce what should have been the truth: that all men and women are created equal.

This Juneteenth, let’s channel the spirit of those who never gave up hope, who pushed forward despite insurmountable odds. Let’s demand that racial equity is prioritized, not postponed.

The time for action is now, not tomorrow, and certainly not two years from now.

Let this Juneteenth be a moment of reflection and action. Together, let’s ensure that the next generation does not have to wait for the freedom and equality they deserve. It ain't just a Black thing; it's a celebration of humanity. The time for change is now.

We did it! The results are out and my book hit #2 on The Wall Street Journal Bestseller List! Yes, #2!!! I am beyond words... all I have are emotions and tears today. They are tears of joy for a dream I've had since I was a kid.

When I say we, I mean God. I mean my amazing team. I mean Hay House Publishing. I mean Smith Publicity. I mean all of you who bought books! Even if you couldn't buy a book but have sent your prayers or positive thoughts my way, you helped me get here and I am eternally thankful.

Whatever it is, you can do it! No matter what it looks like, keep going! Walk by faith, not by sight!

I keep hearing that companies are experiencing "DEI Fatigue." If I'm being honest, it really irritates me. After 2 years of companies taking DEI seriously, they are already fatigued when their employees have been tolerating toxic work environments and inequities for decades.

Stop the BS!

The article below is a great example of why DEI is still needed now more than ever. Arthur Grand Technologies, this is not a good look nor will it make your company culture feel connected or safe. You can have a policy against discrimination but actions speak much louder than words.

2700 people!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Special thanks to Sherwin Williams for allowing me to do what I love for their national sales team. I met so many amazing people who want to Be Better Than Their BS! This event was even more special because I got to take my niece Kambry Scott with me who has been working for me for almost 2 years now.

Next, I spoke at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Conference Center in Nashville. I used to come to this hotel in my 20's to attend the Black Enterprise Entrepreneur's Conference. I got to hear amazing speakers talk about business and building their dreams. I would sit in the audience and imagine myself on those stages. Now, I'm on those stages!!!

When we can get over our BS, we can accomplish anything!
